Ebay proposes TV commercials for its users

What about having a spot TV to sell your TV?
That is the news I heard today on French Radio RMC. Ebay will propose to its users in orders to promote the products they sell on the website, to buy some TV spots in the French market.

This campaign is called "ebay, c'est vous" or Ebay it's you in English, and has been edited by Euro RSCG, the marketing agency.

There were 10 spots available, which are sold by auctions. The winner of the auction will come to Paris and will produce its ad in a professional studio with a professional crew. 10 different type of ads have been on line.

Some of them have already been sold, with a cost varying between 1600€ and 2000€ (one of them has been sold only 200€).

Ebay will offer the money from these auctions to Planete Urgence, a charity association fighting againts deforestation.

In my opinion, this is a great marketing campaign, because it gives a spotlight to ebay on TV, and shows how efficient the system can work to sell items on Internet. There are already a lot of entrepreneurs that use ebay as their primary retail.

The auctions concerning the TV spots was closed on Sunday night.
